The farm club is a student-run initiative that facilitates engagements centered on agriculture and food for students, staff and faculty at MIT. The club also runs workshops through the semester, in partnership with classes, providing room for hands-on activities for the community.

Every week in the fall and spring, the MIT Farm Club organizes volunteering sessions to 3 partner farms within the Greater Boston area
These sessions involve activities such as harvesting produce, clearing weeds, mulching soil, and preparing delicious farm-to-table lunches!

In collaboration with the MIT Office of Sustainability and MIT Anthropology, we are piloting the Fresh Food Bag program to provide students and MIT community members with affordable, locally grown produce.
When: On Mondays, from 4-6pm, we sell curated bags of farm produce from our harvest sessions over the weekend

Our partner farms
Boston Medical Center is a rooftop farm in Boston. With a tight footprint of 8000 sq ft, the farm produces large quantities of food each year, with almost 10000 lbs in 2024. The produce caters to the Boston Medical Center ecosystem and helps improve local food security. The farm also hosts volunteers and tour sessions for visitors.
Eastie Farm was established by transforming an abandoned lot into a growing space in East Boston. Since then, they have added one more site and a unique geothermal-powered space. It is the site of weekly activities, including volunteering, CSA bagshares and community programs
Hannan Healthy Foods Farm is a family-run farm in Lincoln Massachusetts that provides fresh farm produce cultivated with organic and ecologically-conscious methods. The farm provides affordable produce in the form of CSA shares. They are a supplier for the MIT Fresh Food Bag program
