MIT Farm organizes student, faculty, and community members
By working with various student organizations, departments, labs and centers, MIT Farm coalesces various long-standing efforts and interests towards realizing a greener campus, with improved food security whilst simultaneously providing physical avenues for these bodies to come together.
MIT Farm is the result of over a decade’s worth of efforts and advocacy for various green spaces and infrastructure on MIT’s campus, starting in 2009. The most recent form of this initiative was catalyzed through the Climate Corps workshops (Spring 2024-Spring2025). It was further strengthened through the establishment of collaborative relations with various departments, labs and centers on campus, and farms around the Greater Boston area.
Below is a brief timeline that shows the major events leading up to the establishment of MIT Farm.
